Sorrento is a personal highlight for me on the Amalfi Coast
Sorrento is the laid back, cooler, under the radar sibling of the uber famous Positano, Capri and Ravello.
Take a hike…
Pasta and pizza can take its toll. Head out hiking with a guide up into the beautiful Amalfi countryside a medium distance hike out of Sorrento. The area is famed for its lemons, pick up a leaflet from the tourist information office and head out on a lemon and olive tour with one of the guides, their knowledge of the architecture in Sorrento and flora and fauna outside the town is genuinely fascinating.
Aperol spritz at sunset
The hotel La Favourita which is both central and expensive lets guests into their hotel bar on the roof just for drinks. Head up before sunset to watch the sun go down with a glass of Italian bubbles in hand.
The hidden waterfront gem..
Lido la solara.
This place is a well hidden gem and takes a bit of finding but its well worth it when you do.
You need to get a bus or a taxi to the little town just next to Sorrento, head off the beaten track, past an ancient ruin, and along a make shift wooden boardwalk on the waters edge to reach your destination.
But when you do…. chilled house music and 2 euro prosecco awaits.
There you have it, in 3 minutes, enjoy!
