Vancouver, Canada

The perfect blend of city and nature.

Head to Granville Island

A quirky public market with boutique shops, craft stalls, restaurants and bars with everything from pottery shops, to glass sculpting workshops and places to grab home brewed beers.

You can reach the island by car but take the cute 30 second ferry across the water which leaves from various locations, if you are nice, a little tipsy and the only passengers, they might let you drive it!

There are loads of great places to grab food and drinks, a highlight is at Bridges Bistro where you can sit outside with blankets and watch the sun go down.

If its an afternoon cocktail  you are after…

Head to Reflections on top of the Rosewood hotel. This hidden roof top bar is a little garden oasis in the centre of Vancouver. It’s fairly pricey – a bottle of prosecco is about 60 CAD, rougly about £35, but they do cocktails and nibbles and its a nice place to spend a couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon.

Finally, a quick way to see a city is always to hire bikes..

Stanley Park should be your first cycle destination. If you hire them in the right place you can avoid cycling on the roads too. Save an afternoon and cycle the whole way round the park, the views are amazing out to sea, and there is a coffee shop in the information centre part way round!

There you have it, in 3 minutes, enjoy!
